About me
Strength and confidence for women in leadership
It is a matter close to my heart to encourage other women in management positions to go their own way with confidence and awareness of their strengths. Because that is how they will be effective and successful in their careers.

Hello, I am Katharina
Since I was a child, I was fascinated by why people are so different and what has shaped them: their culture, their family, their circumstances? And how people can find each other and treat each other with respect despite these differences. At the age of 20, I therefore decided to spend a year in Taiwan during my sinology studies, where I lived in close quarters with a large Chinese family. This time was very formative for me, as it gave me a new perspective on social and family systems and the importance of the individual in these often dynamic systems.
I have experienced turning points like this time and again in my life. And I am grateful for them. Because they have taught me a lot, helped me to develop and gain new and valuable perspectives.
They have accompanied me throughout my professional life: as Global Head of Human Resources in international companies such as Bosch Rexroth, Continental, KPMG and Symrise as well as in a US and Chinese company. But also personally, because I wanted to be there for my children, my family and friends and to meet the challenges of my management positions and the high expectations I had of myself.
In my private life, I love being together with my family, hiking in the Alps and long walks on the beach, immersing myself in psychologically exciting books and interacting with people who are interesting without realizing it.
My experience
As Head of Human Resources, I have often experienced that highly competent female managers do not have the confidence to take on new challenging positions, do not become visible, are discouraged by difficult circumstances or even give up. Many women also assume that their excellent performance and competence as a manager will be seen and recognized.
However, in order to be seen, recognized and appreciated, more is needed:
Courage to be yourself, the ability to act confidently and with inner strength in difficult situations and, above all, to communicate skillfully and appreciatively. Communication in complex contexts, power structures, with different cultures and personalities.
